Mobilint Turns Six: A Look Back, A Leap Forward

Today—a day before our 6th anniversary—we came together to celebrate the years we’ve progressed as one.

On April 17, 2019, CEO and CTO Dongjoo Shin founded Mobilint with a vision where artificial intelligence technology would live inside portable machines, and not just in cloud systems or expensive data centers.

Six years later, that vision is brought to life. Our two flagship chips: ARIES, which has recently entered successful mass production, and REGULUS, a highly anticipated system-on-chip soon slated for official production, are now set to power major AI projects across the country.

Each member’s contribution made Mobilint what it is today. Let’s take a look at the team behind our craft and how we celebrate growth. 📸

Expanding with compactness

We’re a fast-growing team, but we remain tightly knit—with 65 members as of today—and each one is in charge of a critical role.

Mobilint gathers professionals (about 70% of Mobilint comprises engineers and researchers) who delve deep into their technical specializations. That depth sometimes make it hard to stay up to date on the other teams’ current projects, goals, and aspirations.

So we kicked off the day with short presentations, where each team spotlighted their teammate’s expertise and share information that could help break ice between anyone.😉

We followed up with a quiz session to test everyone’s newfound knowledge of other teams' roles and responsibilities. Competition was quite fierce with prizes on the line!

The big lunch was a highlight of this program. Over a carefully catered meal, each table was filled with both laughter and inquisitive get-to-know questions. As Jaehyun, our HR team lead comments on this set-up: “Sharing a meal is one of the best ways for anyone to bond.” How true is that?

To close the event, CEO Dongjoo Shin took the stage to lead the open Q&A session. Everyone was encouraged to join, and important questions were asked—what our current north star is, where we should focus on, and more—and his answers ensured our goals and visions were aligned as we prepare for a new phase of growth.

Welcoming our next phase

Bringing more of our visions to life, the past year had been a fast-paced and demanding one. As we gear up for our sixth year in the highly competitive AI chip industry, we’re confident with what we’re offering to the market.

“Each year, I can genuinely feel the company growing at an exponential pace,” says Sang Hyun, our hardware research engineer specializing in SoCs, celebrating his third Mobilint anniversary. “I am glad I can contribute to such an incredible journey, surrounded by smart and passionate colleagues! I’m excited to see what we’ll achieve by the 7th anniversary.”
